Connecting engineering, estimating, and project management
After reviewing several ERP options, Loos selected Genius ERP because of its manufacturing focus and ability to support existing operational processes. Rather than forcing standard workflows onto the business, the implementation team worked closely with Loos to tailor the system around how departments already operated.
One of the first major improvements came through CAD2BOM integration. Engineering information now moves directly from SolidWorks into Genius ERP, automatically creating accurate bills of materials for manufacturing and purchasing. This reduced manual data entry, lowered the risk of errors, and saved valuable engineering time.
Estimating also became more efficient with Genius Excel Estimator. Instead of relying on spreadsheets requiring constant updates, estimators can now build quotes using live ERP information and historical costing data. Quote turnaround times improved, pricing became more reliable, and teams gained greater confidence in estimate accuracy.
Genius ERP also brought more structure to long-term projects. Project managers can oversee multiple active projects from one system, monitor milestones and labour hours, track budgets, and identify risks earlier. Because estimating and project execution are connected inside the ERP, information flows more consistently between departments.
Financial reporting also became more manageable. Built-in revenue recognition tools simplified how Loos manages reporting across long-term projects, allowing revenue and project performance to be tracked continuously throughout the project lifecycle instead of waiting until month-end or period-end reporting.
Reporting across the organisation became faster and more dependable as well. With operational and financial data connected inside a single system, Loos gained stronger visibility into project trends, job performance, costs, and overall business performance.
Today, Loos is positioned to continue growing with greater confidence and control. Over the last five years, the company has expanded into additional markets and experienced continued growth. With improved visibility into operational performance, costs, and capacity, the business is better equipped to scale while continuing to support customers across the food manufacturing industry.
