Chapter 3 — Real-World Application Scenario

Scenario: a customer wants their order two weeks early, and the scheduler who’d know if that’s feasible is on vacation. Asked generically, Cortex explains how to change a due date. Once it knows the company’s own SOPs, the same question gets a real answer: a production manager sign-off is required, and marking the order “rush” auto-adds an 18% fee. Users can drill into the source document behind any answer.

Chapter 4 — Workflow Automation and Processes

The 18% rush fee is one example of Genius ERP’s workflow steps — automated actions tied to status changes on sales orders, work orders, and other documents. In this scenario, marking an order “rush” also triggers a two-day window requiring purchasing, shipping, and the customer to be notified. These workflow automations will be the focus of the next webinar.

Chapter 5 — Gathering User Feedback

A second poll asked attendees what they’d add to the platform first. Suggestions included step-by-step order entry, engineering rules for configuring products correctly, and quality/lot-tracking procedures like where certification documents get filed. The presenter’s advice: start broad — even “ask Sophie” is a valid first entry — then formalize into documents over time, and prioritize plain text, since images, Excel files, and flowcharts get converted to text first, adding interpretation risk. A related stat: 81% of employees say hands-on experience is the hardest thing to replace. Top use cases floated: onboarding new hires (the presenter’s own favorite) and production prioritization rules.

Chapter 6 — Future Developments and Data Integration

Today Cortex answers based on Genius ERP knowledge plus any SOPs you add. Next up: connecting Cortex directly to your own ERP data — e.g., asking how often a customer ordered a given product. Longer-term, the goal is helping build queries for reporting and dashboards.

Chapter 7 — Accessing Genius Cortex

Cortex shipped with version 18, released the week of this session. It requires version 18 plus an active Genius Academy license — no separate fee for the AI itself or usage. Attendees can scan a QR code or email customer success to request access.

Chapter 8 — Upcoming Webinar on Workflow Automation

The next session, set for August 20, focuses on workflow automation: putting workflow steps into documents like POs, sales orders, and work orders. A highlighted new feature lets teams filter workflows by employee on the shop floor, so a worker only sees tasks assigned to them.
